ANNETTE SHARP: CHOREOGRAPHY
Annette has been involved in Canberra Musical Theatre since 2005. She has worked with many different companies and has been nominated for Best Choreographer in the Canberra Area Theatre Awards numerous times. Annette has choreographed for many local companies in many formats, Musical Theatre, Cabaret, Restaurant Theatre, Corporate productions. This will be Annette’s third production with Lakespeare. Last year, during Canberra’s first lockdown, Annette choreographed Rockspeare which enabled theatre to be streamed to audiences live in their homes.
Annette is looking forward to bringing live theatre to live audiences once again.
JAY CAMERON: COMPOSER
Jay is a Scottish composer, musician and songwriter currently based in Canberra, Australia. Since completing his Masters in Composition at The University of Edinburgh, he has turned his hand to many creative fields, focusing mainly on original musical theatre.
His first complete musical A Gentleman’s Game was performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2016, and soon after he was invited to showcase his work to industry leaders in Edinburgh and London.
In Australia, Jay has collaborated with companies producing some of the most exciting work in Australian theatre, including scores for Lakespeare’s productions of Richard III, and Songs and Sonnets - a show devised around the pairing of his original songs with Shakespeare Sonnets. His most recent collaboration with Sport For Jove on their feature film Venus and Adonis further showcased his ability to write music commensurate to the richness of Shakespearean language.
Jay is currently working on a new musical titled ZERO, exploring the legacy of journalist John Hersey and the bombing of Hiroshima.
Jay was having too much fun composing for this show that he had himself cast. You will see him on stage as the minstrel in Duke Senior's crew.
